Salmon River Rafting Adventure

This varied and energetic program travels the lower gorge of the Salmon along white-sand beaches and through steep-walled canyons with dozens of Class II and III rapids. There's whitewater excitement enough for anyone here...as well as slower, easier stretches of water ideal for photography, wildlife spotting and sheer lazing in the sun.

Day 1 -- Clarkston and Salmon River

Make your way early this morning to the Quality Inn Clarkston to meet your fellow travellers. We then transfer by road to Whitebird, Idaho, for our launch. After a safety orientation we start out on the first of five spectacular days in the Idaho wilderness. Easy white water and lazy floating for the first few miles gives us plenty of time to practice our paddling skills..

Day 2 to 4 -- Salmon River

Three magic days on the tumbling Salmon, with two to three hours of rafting excitement each morning, and another three to four hours each afternoon. Our time off the river is filled with hikes to historic sites, once home to explorers, pioneers and local Native American tribes. Enjoy riverside recreational activities and delicious meals prepared by our staff.

Day 5-- Salmon River and Clarkston

After a leisurely morning we reach the confluence with the Snake River at midday. Here we board our chartered high-speed jetboat for a thrilling ride through the lower end of Hells Canyon back to the hotel in Clarkston.
